Another wonderful couple celebrating at Stonelees Golf Centre chose me to be their photographer for their twilight wedding and when I met Yvonne and Steve at their pre-wedding meeting with co-ordinator Suzannah, I had a feeling it would be very relaxed and very, very happy. This lovely couple have both been married before and were very open about their plans. Second time around but no less important, a friend of theirs said that they are really just “signing a book and having a party”. And they did. In front of family and friends, some of whom had travelled a few distance to celebrate with them (and a few who came from Margate …), they laughed and smiled and were married. And the weather was fabulous!
My beautiful bride, Yvonne, arrived in a Morgan driven by a friend. I’ve always hankered after owning a Morgan and this was in tip-top condition … and Yvonne didn’t have a hair out of place. What an entrance!
The groom’s children were great fun and son Elliot stood as best man. He did trust me with the wedding rings … just about! The buttonholes and bouquets were created by the talented Karen at Parkes and Iris who are another one of the recommended suppliers at Stonelees … when I know Karen is creating the bouquets, I am completely confident that my couple will be in safe hands. Yvonne’s children were such a great foil for each other … Tom a little more serious, Jess a ball of energy! As she arrived, she positively exploded out of the car and I immediately got a great feeling for the dynamics of Yvonne and Steve’s celebrations! Ceremonies at Stonelees are in the beautifully manicured gardens which give me fabulous photographic opportunities – such a great reaction from the guests … and the waiting groom too.Yvonne was smiling from ear to ear whilst signing the register and I think Steve looks pretty pleased too!I suspect Yvonne will be finding confetti for quite some time – her friends were dead set at getting loads and loads down her dress!Twilight weddings are quite time-poor due to be held later in the afternoon but I work closely with my couples to ensure that we have enough opportunities for both formal family photographs and bride and groom portraits. The light at this time of year is just stunning. We had a trip out onto the golf course in a buggy and stopped off here and there for a few moments … and it was worth it!
My lovely couple were just so relaxed with each other and laughed so much without any prompting whatsoever. They were truly delighted to be married and to start their next adventure.
Thank you both so very much for having me as part of your day. Yvonne, you truly glowed and Steve, you have the best sense of humour. I loved every minute and I’m excited to share your images with you. Wishing you a wonderful married life together xxx
