Hempstead House is a lovely country wedding venue (https://www.hempsteadhouse.co.uk/weddings) situated about 15 minutes from Faversham which is perfect for me as that’s where I’m based. I’m also one of their recommended suppliers and was delighted to be put in touch with Alison and Neil who had booked this lovely venue for a spring wedding.

Alison and Neil didn’t want full day coverage. As their wedding was so local and on a Friday, I’m always happy to help where I can. We kept in touch and Alison told me about their wedding day plans … and finally the day arrived.

We agreed to meet up before their meetings with the registrars to capture some portraits of the two of them before their celebrations began. As I know Hempstead House well, I was able to suggest certain locations … which had to be sheltered from the wind as it was quite ferocious!

The light in the window seat was just lovely for Alison’s portraits.

Both Alison and Neil are not great fans of being photographed so I just let them chat and be relaxed with each other and the photographs speak for themselves.

Then briefly outside into the grounds at Hempstead House, finding shelter from the winds. It was April, after all.

We had to find places where the sun didn’t make the images too bright but which weren’t right under the trees nor on the grass. Alison particularly asked for the following photograph as she had seen me do something similar with another couple:

You can get a sense of how windy it was! Then soon back in to greet guests who had started to arrive, have their registrar interviews and get ready for their “I Do’s”.

Drinks were afterwards in the bar at Hempstead House and the room already set for Alison and Neil’s intimate celebration lunch. We braved one more visit outside for confetti …

The confetti went in all the wrong directions but we were successful nonetheless. Then it was time for me to leave Alison and Neil to continue their celebrations in the Oakly Room. A great time with this lovely couple making some new memories for them both.
