What a wonderful day … perfect weather, amazing location and a gorgeous couple. Juliette and Sam were married at Elvey Farm. After meeting at school, they celebrated their love with their friends and family at this lovely location. For the first time in nine years of photographing wedding, this super bride and groom wanted me so much to be their photographer that they changed their date. This led to months of me worrying “what if the weather is horrible and it rains all day and they could have been married last week in the blazing sunshine on the bank holiday …” but it was fine. In fact, it could not have been better. Their outdoor ceremony was in the grounds of the oast house on the Elvey Farm property and we had time to stroll out into the “glamping” fields situated next door. With games such as Jenga and ping pong, their guests were well entertained with Pimms and canapes to delay any hunger pangs.

It really was calm at bridal prep. As I had had the pleasure of photographing Juliette’s sister Victoria’s wedding to Chris at Boys Hall, it was like being with friends. And the fact that the groom Sam had a best man also called Sam was not at all confusing. Oh no, not in the slightest!

Juliette and her mum had been whisked over to the venue in a beautiful Rolls Royce and, as the chauffeur is a family friend, this beautiful vehicle stayed around for photographs of the couple after the ceremony.

Juliette with her grandma, Stella. Who is amazing. And smiley and lovely.

Do you see what I mean about the perfect weather? We snuck away for a few minutes during welcome drinks and it was totally worth it!

And this shot was later, when the sun was setting, after speeches. How gorgeous does Juliette look?

Special thanks must go to both Fiona (mother of the bride) and Victoria (matron of honour and bride’s sister) who helped organise, cajole, entertain and who were such a great support to Juliette during the stages of planning this wonderful day.

The nights start to draw in at this time of year and, because the skies were clear, the temperature was falling too but the marquee was cosy and the dancing energetic, led by Juliette and Sam for their first dance.

Such a fun day and I enjoyed every minute and hope that Juliette and Sam did too. The image of Sam in a green mankini handed out by best man Sam certainly got the guests talking and I am sure that celebrations last long into the night.

Congratulations to you both and I am looking forward to editing and sharing your final results.

Much love xx
